Part of this seems to be confusion on what YKINMK means. I usually see this guide posted and I feel it best represents it.

what is okay:
• to be uncomfortable with a kink
• to hate a kink
• to be disgusted by a kink
• to have reasonings behind it
• to explain your reasonings behind it

what is not okay:
• to tell people to kill themselves
• to tell people they’re disgusting
• to intentionally harass people
• to be a dick to someone because of something that makes them happy

Because it seems that a lot of people seem to be arguing that they should be free to hate RPF and that they shouldn't have to like it just because other people do. That is not YKINMY. Feel free to hate it, but just do so without attacking others over it. Cool?

I mean I don't know about y'all but I have dozens of better things to do than harass people because they like feet or something. And that's not a comment on my life being busy and meaningful, it's just on how pathetic the troll brigades are.

If Your Kink Is Not My Kink has no meaning other than "don't bully people", why do we even call it Your Kink Is Not My Kink, instead of Don't Bully People

Because "Don't bully people" is very general and people tend to think things like "This thing is the exception! This issue is so important it goes against that!" unless you specifically say, no, "bullying people because of X is wrong" which is what YKINMK is saying.

So does the fact that we don't have similar slogans for other areas imply that it's actually OK to bully people in those areas?

You are either obtuse or a troll.

At this point in the discussion, I'm going to vote troll. Subspecies: Devil's Advocate.

I'm pretty sincere in every conversation that's not with Blitzwing. Blitzy just gets my goat.

For the same reason attacking someone for being gay is called gay-bashing and not Don't Be A Dick. People feel that disliking a kink gives them the moral highground and makes it something other than bullying. They're making fandom a better place! They're Protecting The Victims! They're fighting racism and sexism and a bunch of other isms! Telling someone to kill themselves because you hate them is wrong and bullying, but telling someone to kill themselves because they drew Rose from SU too skinny is activism!
