Re: ALPHA/BETA/OMEGA Dynamics in Fanfic

For the record, my being slightly grossed out with it is mostly because the alpha/omega thing mirrors some really nasty views of men and women and relationships and sex in a way that would be extremely gender essentialist if it were het

Well, I felt that way about seme/uke dynamics by the time I stopped being interested in that, and that was years before A/B/O basically just copied the schtick and rebranded it. Now I just find it boring and derivative because I've literally seen every trope in it in the fandoms of old.

People gonna like what they like, though.
