Character death is the one I feel sticky about most, since in anything I'd be writing it's not going to be a real person, and if you can't handle an imaginary person dying then I almost feel like you shouldn't be on the internet.

As someone who's had to avoid character death fics in the past: for me, it's more that fanfic is sometimes my focus-on-good-things-when-everything's-shit activity. (My other major one is reading romance novels.) So if I'm reading fanfic while dealing with depression, then an unexpected death fic might bring me further down for days, when ordinarily it would just be a bit sad and I'd get over it in an hour or so.

I think your graphic content disclaimer--or AO3's "Choose not to warn"--is really great, though. I can avoid those stories when I'm feeling fragile, but they don't spoil too much for readers without my particular needs.

Yeah, that is precisely what I'm trying to do with that. I don't want to unintentionally ruin someone's day, but I also don't want to ruin someone else's enjoyment. As long as that works out, then all is well. :)
