But seeing it as a personal slight toward you by people determined to "shame" and "judge" you for liking YA lit--that's oversensitive and precious. Teens are routinely treated as nuisances and made unwelcome in public spaces, so it's pretty mean-spirited to grudge them a place of their own. If librarians have observed that teens make less use of a space when adults horn in on it, then for once the adults can back off. It's not as if there are no adults-only places.
