I keep forgetting they made a remake.

And that remake had a sequel.

I watched half of the remake and couldn't watch any more. Just. No. Never saw the sequel. Never wanted to.

I actually did watch the original when it came out but I remember shit all about it.

It is one of my dad's favorite movies, so we watched it a lot when I was a kid. Other Harryhousen movies as well. I grew up on these sorts of movies. Classic scifi and fantasy stuff.

I got so pissed with the remake when I learned they dissed Bubo.

It's always weird to watch the Harryhausen effects in Clash of the Titans and then remember it came out the year AFTER The Empire Strikes Back.

True. But I love it anyway. It is ridiculously cheesy, but in a good way.

although, I must ask, what was "When Worlds Collide" - that's not ringing any bells whatsoever

Classic scifi movie. Another planet is going to collide with Earth. Earth will be destroyed, but the other planet will survive. So a spaceship sends a select few people to the new planet.

Forbidden Planet is such a gorgeous movie! The special effects still look great. The monster from the id trying to break through the invisible fence is one of my favorite FX sequences ever!

Yes. I totally agree. Gorgeous. Now I have the urge to watch again. But I think we only have a VCR tape of it, and our player finally died.

it's on DVD! {I think there's two versions, the basic and a collector's edition which has I think a Robby figure. I know there's a cover that is utter BS, it has Robby carrying Alta (? - can never remember how to spell her name) and making it look like he's the villain of the piece]
