Re: TW Rape
First of all, six months is WAY less than people routinely get for shit like selling pot. Violating someone in such a way that she will carry it with her for the rest of her life, possibly with PTSD, should earn you way more than six months.
Secondly, don't forget it's actually more like three months since the sentence was given with the stipulation of "get out early with good behavior".
like I really cannot believe I'm seeing someone justify this sentence here omg

(Anonymous) 2016-06-08 09:52 am (UTC)(link)Also, the disgusting behavior by the criminal and his family during and after the trial and the crime are two separate things, and that should be kept in mind. Like she says in her letter, she thought, had hoped, that he would settle. That would not have reversed the crime but could have helped her to put it behind her. What makes this case a scandal is how she was attacked and victimized again during the trial.
Re: TW Rape
Not sure where you are going with "you can only be taken seriously if you suffer"? (She still wasn't taken seriously by the judge or the perpetrator's family, and the only reason she's taken seriously by the internet is her story went viral)
And if you cause an accident out of negligence you can still go to jail for that.
