I mean, I'm not lying here

I keep trying to watch anime and it keeps having shit like that, or plots that are really bad and clichéd and dull. I'm sure it's not true of everything but there is a very high percentage. More to the point, it's really hard to find those exceptions when anime fans as a group don't seem to care about those things, and mostly seem to watch and discuss and popularize things like that. So it's easier to stay away instead of being disappointed yet again by something that I watched because tons of anime fans talked it up and it seemed smart for the first couple episodes.
