It's tragic, yeah, but seems like people are more interested in using her death as political platform rather than, I dunno, mourning her loss and celebrating her as a person. Could have been anyone else and you'd be spewing the same shit.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
What shit am I spewing? I'm sad, angry, and scared. And Yes, any other death would have made me feel the same.

Then don't act like you're so bent up about this loss, you're just using this death as way get on a platform.

You don't actually give a shit about her as a person, so don't act like you do.

What fucking platform??

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Emotionally imbalanced men with guns" craze

My bad, lowing hanging bait would have been a better term.

Also you only wrote her name and how she died. You obviously don't care.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously. What the actual fuck are you on about?

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm tired of people pretending they care about the people involved in these events when they don't. They just want something to bitch about.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess some people can't comprehend a phrase like "emotionally imbalanced men with guns" being used by someone who's just very upset and not a radfem or gun control freak.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-12 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, it's more like I don't wanna go into a thread about a young person's death and have it be shitposting about gun control and nothing about the victim's life. There's a time and a place for that, another thread would have been fine, and I don't think it should be in the same breathe. Feels like a cheap gimmick, y'know?

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-12 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Though looking back, I've kinda made it a shitty thread on my end, so I apologize for that and any words I've put in anyone's mouth. Should discussed this when I was in a better state of mind.

My bad, basically.

Dont worry, its just our resident MRA. You said somthing bad about a man. gasp.

nayrt

It's not that hard to figure out, sweetheart. I presume you're being deliberately obtuse at this point.

/OP of this mess of a sub hread

I appreciate you backing me up, but being condescending won't help.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
People can do both. People can be shocked and dismayed by the death of a singer they loved, and also be a little, "Why the fuck don't we have gun control already?!"

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, but they sure don't seem interested in the former. Didn't even mention that she was a singer or anything else about her.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Couldn't you say that about most deaths that make national news that aren't famous people?

It's not like I personally knew Mike Brown when I was reblogging posts about his death and police accountability.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, but then don't act like their death personally affected you or you were emotionally invested in them as person.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

I am about as emotionally invested as I can be when any person is unjustly killed, and as a minority living in America, I do feel that such deaths personally affect me.

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-12 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe people are sick of the same thing happening every day and would like to prevent future deaths \_o-O_/

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-12 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
there are 91 deaths from guns every day in America, there is literally no time period throughout the day you can talk about gun control without it qualifying as "too soon" or "using" someone's death

Re: RIP Christina Grimmie

(Anonymous) 2016-06-12 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
You can talk about gun control it without mentioning recent victims. Unless you looked it up, you wouldn't be able to name most, if any, of them. What I'm trying to get at is don't use someone's death as a talking piece. It's fine to talk about gun control and the only way anything /will/ improve is by talking about it, but mentioning so and so's death, when you care nothing for them or their life, only their status as a victim, is just using their death as emotional bait and I think that's a scumbag move.
