Have you ever seen a man blush?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-11 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
In my twenty-some years, I've just now realized I have not.

I've never seen anyone blush. I don't know how people can tell what this so-called "blushing" looks like. When everyone else goes "ooooh you're blushing!" to someone, they always look the same to me.

Me too. I probably have seen it technically, but not realized it was blushing.

They're probably not blushing, just doing the body language that people code as blushing. Whenever someone has said that to me I have not been blushing - I was embarrassed or uncomfortable in a way that usually drains my face of color, but people insist on saying I'm blushing with a *nudge nudge, wink wink.

I have VERY pale skin, when I actually blush I turn as red as a sunburn from my hairline down to hell. I've looked down and seen my ARMS turn from white to pink to red in seconds when this happens. People never comment when it's happening, they just squirm and look away uncomfortably because it looks horrible.

Sure. Especially fair-skinned guys.

I've never seen anyone blush. people get red faces sometimes, and I've seen red blotches on very pale people, but those are a lot lower and more vertical than animated blushes.

Real life is not animation. You've seen people blush.

The thing you describe seeing is literally what blushing is.

Yup. My high school boyfriend was very fair skinned and whenever he got embarrassed, his cheeks and ears turned bright red.

??? Lots of my male friends blush. Some blush on the cheecks, some only on the tip of the nose and there's one adorable man I know that blushes only on the back of his neck, like he becomes totally red. It's easier to see on the fair skinned ones, but yeah, men totally blush. It's usually when we're talking about common friends, love interests or embarassing moments, but also with shy men when they're introduced to new people. ...like... it happens to women I guess?

YEP.

And often I'm the one making him blush.

Because you pooped yourself again and he's embarrassed for you?

I have! :)

Yes.

It's easier to see the paler they are. And different people blush differently. Some just get red-cheeked, for some you can only see it on the tips of the ears, I haven't seen that many that do the full face and neck (and presumably chest) flush, but there are at least a few.

Yep. I called some kid behind the shop counter a cutie-pie. He turned beet-red.
