People called me back! I'm in the process of setting up my new house and I want to get the closet redone and they called me back! Plus the painter called me back so I can have him come out and estimate that and it's finally moving along after sitting for a week doing nothing yay!

Woo! What are you getting painted?

It's such a nice feeling getting to decorate a new place.

LITERALLY EVERYTHING!

Okay so the place is a condo, 2 bed, 2 bath, and one main living/kitchen/dining area.

And the previous owner LOVED accent walls. There are accent walls in the bedrooms and dining/living area. Plus the bathrooms have no windows and the walls are way too dark for no windows. I like light, airy spaces.

So I'm leaving the hallway, doors, ceilings, and trim, but otherwise, the whole place.

I'm so excited to have a fresh start.

Oooohh. What colors are we going with?

I'm always unreasonably excited about choosing paint colors lol.

I'm thinking pale yellow in the guest room (which will basically be my library, I AM SO EXCITED FOR BOOKSHELVES), light green in the master bedroom, and a light blue/grey in the kitchen. Several of the walls are already blue/grey in the kitchen so I might just try to match that and just get rid of the accent walls.

For the guest bath, there's trim in the middle, so I'm thinking slate grey on the bottom, black trim, and white top.

Haven't decided on the master bath yet. Not sure if I want a color or something neutral. I found a shower curtain for the guest bath but haven't decided on a theme for the master bath. I have terrible taste so I'm trying to make sure it's not too outrageous.

Bathrooms are the best spots for color since they're so tiny, imo.

Like... a really beautiful green, or whatever is complimentary to the color of the bedroom.

When I was doing the suite, I had a sort of darkish mint/green-grey that was already sitting around in the shed, so the bedrooms both got that color. The bathroom was already yellow, so I added a white accent wall in the darkest spot next to the kitchen just to go for a transition and lighten it up. Then it was a simple matter of matching the carpet we got with something suitable for the living room. I went with a darker grey with a hint of purple.

For the kitchen, we just added some of that grey/purple to another bucket of white and voila. The place looks about a million times better than before (it was sort of a poopy beige).

Don't be afraid to get a special paint mixed! My advice is to bring home a shitload of swatches and see which one hits the light just right in peak sunlight. :)

My parents' house has an orange bathroom but it looks fabulous. So yes, some bathrooms can go great with color.

I really don't like beige/tans, I'd rather go blue or green. But I wanted yellow for color in the guest room.

I know the painter has a whole ton of swatches and I'll go over it with him and get his opinion on what would work well for the light.

Now's the time to do it since there's no furniture there.

It really, really depends on the beige I have found.

My walls in this house are currently a beige, but it's really cool toned with a more green/yellow undertone than a red/brown one. It makes the walls look very warm when the sun lights it up and the yellow starts showing through. It's actually quite beautiful with the cream-white accent paint I got to spruce up the trim.

It definitely depends on the way the light hits it. I just can't wait to do more of the decorating and hanging up pictures of my travels on all the walls.
