(Anonymous) 2016-06-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)I have been genuinely surprised and disgusted by the nasty, small-minded, judgmental, and frankly misogynist attitude so many people are trotting out with regards to this bit of celeb "news." I didn't think I could even be surprised by people having misogynist attitudes towards female celebs anymore, because it's something that's so constantly just there. But the sheer pettiness of it in this case, and the absolute willful determination people have to see everything regarding this young woman's life in the worst possible light is just mind boggling.

Okay, so There was her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal, which IIRC began some time in late 2010. And then Conor Kennedy was after that, right? And then Harry Styles. All of whom happened before Red was released in late 2012, given that both Jake and Harry are fairly well-established to be inspiration behind songs on that album. And then she was single for quite a while. And then Calvin Harris brings us up to two weeks ago. And now Tom Hiddleston (in some largely unknown capactiy).
So in five and a half years she's been with five guys. And in the last three and a half years she's only been with two guys, including Tom. Now personally I wouldn't care if she'd had sex with five HUNDRED guys in that time, as long as everybody was safe and everything was consensual. But what kind of an OTT slut-shaming asshole does one have to be to think that five guys in five and a half years is in any way "too many"?
