I actually read the damn thing like, 20 years ago. Someone had managed to get the whole thing up on some website way back.

I felt like I needed to take a shower after I read it just to get all the ick off. :-S

Of course you can criticize it - what I'm not okay with is people trying to get thing banned and/or altered.

I'm coming at this from a U.S.-centric POV, but I don't get the impression that a lot of people are trying to ban fiction they don't like. Most often, they're telling each other not to purchase it.
