That is sad. You are really fucking sad. Grow the hell up and quit dreaming about video game characters when there's a real world that has just as many "heros who save the world" - who are people just like you and not some blue hedgehog from a failed video game developer.

LURK MOAR, FAG

Re: 1.

Holy crap, overreaction much?

Re: 1.

"I'd rather meet Sonic the Hedgehog than Martin Luther King"

No I don't fucking think it's an overreaction.

*Shrug* And I'd rather meet Mario than Gandhi. He may have been an amazing person, and you know, real, but I simply wouldn't know what to say to the man.

Considering you're getting this worked up over a situation that is never going to happen because one of the characters is fictional, especially when you take into account some of the other secrets posted here, I'd say, yes, that's an overreaction. lol sonic is srs bsns and all that.

OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-28 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, I like how you assume I spend my entire life revolving around this, or something. Srsly.

Also, ah, sorry, but... Surely the idea is that you want to meet the person for your own benefit? And why should I suddenly associate more with those famous people when, considering the ways in which I've come into contact with them, they don't feel 'real' themselves.

See, this is why I had to secret this. Because idiots like you jump to extremes (and then act like I'M an extremist for liking the idea of a video game characters' personality.)

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-28 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
i hope you ignore them, because theres nothing wrong with that : /
who you want to meet is who you want to meet, and if they influence you more than someone else, go for it. among other people, haha, i wouldn't mind meeting Knuckles : )

Re: OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-28 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, I will. I mean, meeting some real hero wouldn't suddenly make the world better or something, why should I change my opinion?

Heh, Knuckles would be interesting to meet, at least as long a you didn't annoy him to the point where he punched your head off a feat I would never manage, knowing my mouth.

♥ Thanks.

(EDIT: OH CRAP OUTED [FACEPALM] ) ...albeit on an anon. RP account, but still!

And she's just as unlikely to meet Martin Luther King as she is Sonic. Give it a rest.

WHY THANK YOU

CHRIST, SOMEONE ELSE HAS A REALISTIC PERSPECTIVE

Re: 1.

(Anonymous) 2008-03-29 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
because we need that on the internet.

internet = serious. yep.

Re: 1.

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Right, cause the internet totally exists in a different realm from reality.

It's funny, actually. Fandom people are constantly bitching about how others shouldn't be so over-the-top trollish, because people on the internet are real people with real feelings who exist in the real world.

But when someone else says hey, real person with real feelings who exists in the real world, maybe you should get a fucking normal perspective, it's all OMG INTERNET IS SRS BSNS

tl;dr: shut the fuck up.

Re: 1.

(Anonymous) 2008-03-30 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
A concept being realized does not make a concept /better/, so a personality being realized (ie, real) does not make it better. At least, not automatically. So when choosing which one you would consider the most interesting to meet, why should it come into play?

Sheesh, s/he has already said that it's not a big deal for them, and besides, a person can be better/more influential/have done good and not be, you know, someone who interests you personally.

Re: 1.

[identity profile] kinneas.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, but you're defending someone who would not only much rather meet Sonic the Hedgehog over everybody else past or present in the world, but also dismissed Dr. fucking King with a "whatever".

This? Very much leads me to believe that this person is not in touch with reality. You cannot "whatever" Martin King and have a decent grasp on the real world.

What I am saying is that it's not just about her preferring a fictional person over a real person, but that she had little to no regard FOR those real people.

Beyond my obvious if accurate strawman, I really don't understand what you're trying to argue here. A concept being realised WHAT now? How is that relevant at all?

Re: 1.

[identity profile] voksen.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
I think he meant "real people aren't more worthwhile than fictional people because they're real" which is frankly so immensely stupid that I'm not sure that I'm right.
