I agree that it is bad to expect people to have an excuse. But sometimes it is actually true. Not everyone is lying. Some people really do use fic to cope with trauma. And there is nothing wrong with that.

No doubt, and that's perfectly fine. The problem is the people who insist a thing is awful and you can't possibly like it unless you have a trauma to excuse it.

I agree that those people are a problem. But the people who are using it as a coping mechanism aren't the problem. And it is okay for them to talk about that if they want to. That doesn't mean they think you have to have trauma to read that stuff. That just means they do have a reason.
