...I would not call him either slender or pretty-faced.

YMMV. I do and I'm not OP.

Ok, though I have to wonder what you think about guys who are actually thin/not super muscly/don't have square jaws.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-19 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh thank god. Someone else was thinking this. I have no idea where OP is coming from.

Compared to Sean Connery and Daniel Craig, I guess. But still not nearly as slender or pretty-faced as Brosnan. So there's a continuum.

I just Googled Brosnan. He looks more like a rugged older version of the same old square-faced magazine-cover white dude imo. Wouldn't really call him pretty-faced either.

I think he gained weight as the series went on.

Brosnan was slender and pretty. I think Dalton was slender, at least. Although a young Sean Connery was also slender and...ruggedly pretty? Is that a thing?

Sean Connery was not slender.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-19 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
He wasn't bulky, but he was lithe and rangey. I think his muscles were generally in proportion which can give the illusion of a degree of slenderness.

ayrt

You know, you're right. But he was kind of trim. He looked good in a suit and burly out of it, which is a good trick to pull off.

I don't really think any of the Bonds are pretty-faced or slender. Like maybe by comparison to each other but they all fall on the "manly, built and strong-faced" spectrum of men in general imo.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I mean, when I think of a slender, pretty-faced man, I think of, say, Cillian Murphy.

Moore's face is a little too square and the cleft in his chin gives him a more masculine appearance. Too masculine to truly be pretty in my eyes.

Eh. Moore's jaw is no more square than Cillian Murphy's, though.

Yeah the square face and chin definitely stood out to me as being not-pretty-faced and more typical/conventionally attractive.

mte but I guess by comparison
