it's been running in chicago for a few weeks for previews which is why i got to see it before it transfers over to broadway.

yeah, the musical ended up being amazing! I was sooo apprehensive about it (much like a lot of people in this thread) but everyone who's seen it loves it, me included. and yeah, squidward got the most development and his song number was (no joke) one of the best things i've seen on stage (and i've seen a lot of broadway shows lmao). it's both funny and heartbreaking. he tapdances with 4 legs.

!!! I was getting my hopes up, because the casting photos looked pretty spot-on and the musical talent behind should be great (taken individually) but a good musical coming out of today's Spongebob is still a pleasant surprise!

I'll go ahead and get excited for the Dvd then :D

Definitely for everyone. There are a lot of jokes only adults would get and a lot of subtle references to episodes in the show. In the showing i was at, the audience was made up of mostly adults and there was def a lot of uproarious laughter all throughout.
