Yeah, at the end of the day, Eve and Flynn are just too meant to be for that to happen.

I don't really like any of the other librarian ships but out of any of them the one you prefer would def be the best

I think Flynn and Eve feel very forced as a couple. But I don't ship any of the team. It's too sibling or mentor-y, depending on the permutation.

Flynn in general feels very forced. The guy shows up in less than a third of the episdes, and they virtually always treat him like the only character during that time.

I mean... He is THE Librarian. For ten years in the real world and in the show world he was The Librarian; he has the most experience and so on. Did you only watch the show not the movies? I only ask because most of us that came in from the movie fandom are like "YES FINALLY I MISSED YOU" whenever Flynn shows up....

*nod* I love Flynn. I'm on the fence about Flynn/Eve, but I totally get stoked whenever Flynn shows up even though I love all of the other librarians.

I watched all of the movies, but I barely made it through them because I disliked Flynn. So I guess I'm not typical of the movie watchers, then, as I would be totally fine if he never showed up again.

I saw two of them (the only ones on Hulu when I went looking) and they were fun and all, but Flynn didn't really strike me as particularly likeable (or, to be completely honest, well-acted), but I was hoping to see him in the series. But in the series itself, he's not the main character. He's a reoccurring character. The problem is that he shows up for the season finales and they're suddenly treating him like the main character when he hasn't earned that (at least as far as the tv series itself goes). This is a story about Evelynn, Galahad, and the other three and its dramatically unsatisfactory when the resolution to their stories is someone else's.

I watched a couple of episodes of this and the special effects were awful, the acting was so-so, and the writing was bad. Does it get any better?

Not really. It's one of those shows that you adapt your standards around rather than one that adapts to yours.

Basically, you either find the basic concept fun and the crappy special effects endearing, or you don't.

The woman who is not Rebecca Romijn is ADORABLE. (Amazing outfit in this secret as well!) I saw a gifset of her as Prince Charming on tumblr...it was one of the only posts I've seen on my dash about this show, but it was fantastic and sparked my interest.

Granted, I probably won't end up watching it, at least anytime soon (I'm already behind on...almost everything), but I can see some of the appeal. (Is the femslash fandom at least a decent size?)

The character you're talking about is called Cassandra, and unfortunately everyone mostly ships her with the Christian Kane character, since the fandom (such as it is) is mostly composed of het Christian Kane fans, and the Rebecca Romijn character is canonically romantically interested with the Noah Wyle character.

I do like the femslash ship but it's unfortunately not really a major element of the fandom.

That gifset made her character seem perfect for femslash, and I thought a thousand fic should spawn because of it. I'm disappointed that fandom didn't run with it.

(Though I liked Christian Kane quite a lot in Leverage, so I can get shipping him.)

She is perfect for it. She keeps finding background women to flirt with (although nothing concrete has been established about her sexuality.

In that episode in Season 1 where Eve keeps bouncing through all the Alternative Universe situations, I ended up shipping Cassandra with both Eve and Lamia.

She sounds perfect! It seems like the show is only on Hulu... which is disappointing, as I don't have an account.

Maybe I can watch it on the official website sometime...

If for nothing else, the femslash potential. I don't watch nearly enough shows that include it.

I do have a Hulu account, so I don't know myself, but I thought you could watch on Hulu without an account as long as you're watching in your computer?

Hmm... Hulu told me there were ten episodes available, and that only one was free. I didn't watch that one since I didn't want to start and then not be able to continue immediately.

However, I have used Hulu in the past (for multiple episodes), it just hasn't been recently. Maybe they've changed their policies, or specific shows have more free episodes than others.

I'm a Jake/Eve shipper. Mostly because I didn't really like the other characters much. Although Ezekiel really grew on me during the "Groundhog Day" style episode. And I realized it is mostly Cassandra's voice I don't like, as I liked her in the AU episode where she dropped that voice because she was a character other than herself. So I might get more into ships involving them in the new season. Maybe.

Huh. I've never really put much thought into shipping anyone on this show but Jake/Ezekiel could be interesting.

And I've never ventured into the fandom, but I'm not surprised it's mostly het. Something about it just gives off that vibe to me. I figured Eve/Flynn would definitely be the most popular pairing (not that I couldn't see Eve/Cassandra, because there's been a ton of "Cassandra's a lesbian" subtext).

A femslash ship is almost never going to be the juggernaut ship in a fandom, sadly.
