I mean, if you're going to identify a character by a single facial characteristic, it's going to be the eyes more often than not, in part because in general they're the most uncomplicatedly pleasant/attractive part of the face and in part because they're just a really easy identifier (as opposed to lips, which people don't tend to notice unless they're really unusual).

Imagine somebody writing terrible fic about "the pointy-lipped man" and "the full-lipped man" doin' it in the back of the Impala

No, it's not a weird thing to think about because they are pointy-BUTT UGLY! I've never understood fandom's obsession with Castiel at all or any particular part of him. I'm sure he's a nice person outside his role, but that is one STUPID avian. Like, owls are smarter and more sympathetic. What a beak bum.
