That's not fair. Matt's relationship to Mary is a really painful messed-up thing, and the way he treated her was a case of a superhero crossing ethical lines in desperation (and of course it blew up in his face).

It's a really sad story about a man who does something really stupid and kind of evil to get off the streets someone he sees as dangerous.
