Ooo, I forgot about her...

To be fair, I haven't read many X-Men comics. A bit of old, old X-Force, but not X-Men.

Well just to give the bare basics of her, she has green hair, magnetic powers like Magneto's (though implied that she's not quite up to his strength), had relationships with Iceman and Havok, and had a significant stint in the X-Factor comic, has spent time as an acolyte of Magneto, has been forced to be one of Apocalypse's horsemen (Pestilence), joined the Starjammers when Havok took them over after Corsair's (Havok and Cyclops's father) died, and is now the leader of a new X-Factor team.

Ooo, if she was one of Apocalypse's horsemen then there really would've been an easy way to include her in the film. (Well, okay... Don't know how the ages add up, but. Maybe they could've figured something out.)

I have never ever heard of the Starjammers, but I love that name. It sounds like a pop-punk band made up of superheroes.

The Starjammers are basically a group of space pirates who, at their intro in the Phoenix Saga (not the Dark Phoenix), were against a tyrant emperor of an big interstellar empire. I mostly know them from that due to my own familiarity with the Dark Phoenix storyline.

I'm so clueless about most comics. Read some various ones, but I'm not familiar with the majority. Most of what I know about Phoenix (which isn't much) is tied to Jean Grey.

The Starjammers is still a brilliant name, though. Now I want to look them up.

Except in recent years since Jean's latest death, the Phoenix has always been linked to her. The Phoenix Saga, where it was introduced, it merged with her (later retconned as having taken her form and replaced her).

There's a few others who have either had it or had bits of it, but for the most part it has always been synonymous with Jean.
