Eh, that's a BS reason to me to justify "don't get creative." Inb4 "Make your own OCs" maybe they do, maybe established characters are a little easier, who is to stop them.

if it's "______ is a _______ ________, I don't make the rules", obviously they're kidding, and they're not storming the creative team about it.

If they start harassing people about things one can only infer, then yeah...too much.
