yeah because they had some holy virgin sansa fantasy going on. man I'm so glad of that particular storyline because it did away with that.

...No, because it was a completely unnecessary retread of her King's Landing arc, now with extra rape. And it was still made mostly about Theon, despite the fact that Sansa - unlike Jeyne Poole - is a major character in her own right, and unlike in the books, Theon was merely an outside observer to her rape.

But yeah, sure, pretend it's because Sansa's not a virgin anymore.

I genuinely like it better this way, especially in the light of how it played out this season. and that thing about how it was "mostly about theon" is just ridiculous. it's *also* about theon because it originally *was* his redemption arc, but to me having their character arcs evolve together is really preferable to just fridging a rather unimportant female minor character for him.

also, yes, it is about her virginity. I guess you're one of the people who just watch to be offended but even then you might have caught on to the tendency to de-kitsch some aspects of the books, and to cross the more romantic expectations of book readers. this is one of them.
(you will not be surprised by this but I also strongly prefer the show's version of Drogo/Dany's relationship.)

I understand she doesn't go through that in the books (i think), but...even in the books, I wouldn't have been surprised if she DID end up that way at some point.

Is it great? No. But just because she wasn't out kicking ass doesn't mean she's somehow...immune from that. In fact, Arya has a better shot at NOT getting raped BECAUSE she can defend herself and isn't being used in a lot of political power plays.

Sansa has always been a high ranking noble standing lady. And in this universe, they tend to get "sold" off to form alliances and shit and yes, that even means that they will end up being used for THAT purpose as well.

It stinks, but it's not surprising (and no, it's not just because the creators of that show have an unhealthy fascination with sex and rape).
