On the other hand, I appreciated those three (Thorin, Kíli, and Fíli) for being part of breaking the mold of "All Our Dwarves Are The Same" that was done across the whole company (probably the other big example of the group for that is Bofur, who also was light on the beard and prosthetics and leaned heavily on James Nesbitt's natural looks).

Though when I think of an older Kíli in War of the Rings era, I do tend to think of him having more beard.
