Uh... in case you haven't noticed OP, you're basically describing 70% of all gaming, anime, and geek culture channels on youtube. I'm not sure it has anything to do with Steven Universe.

yeah I was kinda thinking this. It's a huge nerd stereotype that has some basis in reality.

I'm fairly sure that sort of aesthetic is just kind of associated with the type of person who happens to a) have a huge interest in geek culture and b) have the time/motivation/reinforcement necessary to want to make a youtube channel for all their nerdy opinions.

Because, sure, there are casual and professional nerds out there that look nothing like that. I've met a ton, most are friends and peers, etc... they also tend to have jobs and whatnot and no interest in stating youtube channels.
