A couple years ago I wasn't even attempting to try because I figured life wouldn't get better. I was at my peak--good program, not single, doing everything I was supposed to do--and my peak sucked, so I figured if actually wearing clothing that fit properly and fixing my hair were misplaced effort why bother? If nobody noticed when I did try, least of all me, why would I do anything different?

Poor self-esteem is a hell of a drug, and we live in a world that encourages it. The best way to help people who insist on looking like shit is not to tell them they do. They have to stop hating what they see in the mirror to actually try, and bullying is counterproductive.

Yes. I'm a cis woman and this is exactly it. I can tell my depression is bad when I don't bother to shave my mustache and chest hair. My legs and boobs have gone unshaven or waxed for years. I'm a fat ugly freak, so why bother? I have more body hair than most men, it goes great with my short tubby body, bad skin, squinty small eyes, and missing front tooth. No one I'm attracted to will ever want me except as a punchline, spittoon, or punching bag.

Personally? I just comment on Youtube videos.

As for the Youtube fandom, I've gotten really into lore videos. It reminds me of Dark Souls fandom--you've got all these little bits and pieces, but nowhere near enough to fill in all the possibilities, so everyone's bouncing theories off each other and engaging in friendly debate. There are also fan-created animations, cover songs, music videos, etc.

I've been thinking about starting a twitch channel for fun. Except that to actually get viewers you generally need to show your face, and if I ever did

1. I'd get flack just for being female
2. I'd then get glack for being a woman who is not attempting to look like a busty Boxxy clone.
3. I'd get immediately doxxed and have people contacting my employer for the crimes of being a woman who is not a Boxxy clone who also treats them like chaturbate clients.

So I'd love to do this sort of thing, but until I have really reliable employment it just ain't worth it.

Fat dudes with scraggly beards are still treated much better than women who aren't acting like camgirls.
