Huh, I would have thought your hopes were the majority's. But then, they seem like they'd be more popular with the fandom on Tumblr than on Reddit.

Iunno, maybe, but this fandom does draw a lot of contrariness. The plot points they want are (largely) predictable, but ASoIaF is basically known for not being predictable, and happy endings being hard to come by. I think a lot of the fanbase is really into the contrary and crazy?

That fits with what I've seen. Reddit has a vocal population (couldn't say if they're minority or majority) that's pretty obsessed with GRRM breaking all the tropes and being as unpredictable as possible. And one that's pretty derisive of female characters who aren't Arya.

Most of the other fandom spaces I see have hopes that mostly align with OP's. Many of them make narrative sense.

Yeah. GRRM treats a lot of female characters like humans, but writes with a lot of unintentional sexism. GRRM's reddit fans don't even treat most female characters like humans.

Arya? I fucking hope Arya goes full villain and kills someone everybody loves. I kinda hoped (before she go herself fired from the faceless men) that she'd be sent to kill Jon.

But Jon dying, Cersei repenting, Sansa actually being a good adviser and Tyrion dying unloved are all trope breakers. Following tropes, Jon will get a HEA as a great king, Cersei will die a horrible death her villainy deserves, Sansa would be window dressing and Tyrion would be one of Jon's most trusted, respected advisers.
