I finally saw it. What did you guys think?

I watched it last week for the first time! Idk exactly what I was expecting but I was actually quite impressed with the story and the animation.

It's probably still my favourite movie I've seen this year, I just loved everything about it and I can't wait to get it on DvD so I can watch it again.

Judy was so goddamn cute and her friendship with Nick was absolutely great and even the side-characters were a lot of fun too.

I was good, though I thought a politician scapegoating a racial minority in order to stay in power seemed a little heavy for a kids' movie, but...?

I'm into stories that are heavy for kids movies. Reminds me of my own childhood watching Don Bluth movies.

Don't forget that their plan is to introduce drugs into minority communities to convince the majority that minority members are inherently violent and uncivilized. (Granted, the drugs are introduced via a high-powered dart gun . . .)

I finally saw it too, it was really cute! The animation was great, I loved the characters, and the main two had really great chemistry. There were a couple places where I thought they were spelling of things kind of over obviously for kids, but I wasn't mad about it.

I loved it, loved the story and the commentary and thought it was super cute. Good job done.

Really cute, with a well-designed world and likable characters. More than a little heavy-handed, but entertaining enough that I could forgive that.

When it first came out, people were comparing it a lot to Inside Out, which interested me because the two have such different scopes. Inside Out is hyper-focused on one little girl's mental breakdown, with hints to the larger world around her and the family dynamic that put her into this situation in the first place. Zootopia is about the failures, struggles, and gradual change of an entire society. One's a triumph of characterization, while the other's a triumph of world-building.

Of the two, I'd say Inside Out is more technically proficient, but Zootopia appealed more to my personal interests. I'd love to see a sequel that shows more of this setting. (A TV show would be even better, but I don't think they could pull off the art style with a TV budget.)
