Re: Do you have any triggers?

See, I'm still fuzzy on the whole trigger thing? Like, I have things that make me uncomfortable but not all 100-yard-stare or sobbing flashback mode.

There's a type of flower that has a smell that got blended in with the memory of the news of my grandfather having had a heart attack. So I cannot smell the flower without feeling like i'm physically in the place where I got the news (a tiny hotel phone stall in Italy).

Things regarding cancer can be, but it depends on how it's described. Same for suicide.

Also things involving treasure objects/childhood memento's being destroed.

My general rule of thumb is whether or not it affects you in a way that's not really easy to shake off. 'Trigger' doesn't have to be a whole meltdown, but if it's something you can just go "ewww" and move on about, it's a squick. It sticks around in your headspace, it's a trigger.

In that case, these would be triggers.

I have a smell thing too...just really strong memories attached to some, to the point that I seriously can't stand some.

I get very weird about childhood stuff being destroyed too ?
