I don't care for shota myself, but anime little boys and actual little boys are very different. And why is it always shota? The same idea applies to loli too. But in any case, many of these people are probably entertained by the illustrated, visual aspect of it, similar to how furries like furry art and are not necessarily turned on by looking at actual animals, whatever. I don't claim to be very knowledgeable when it comes to furries.

Shotas and lolis getting killed in horrible ways might entertain me, because they're annoying little animated brats who often have very little bearing on how actual children act, but I'd be mortified to watch actual children getting killed in the same manner.

I really feel like the whole point of this secret was to say "Stop being upset that people sometimes sexualize things that make you uncomfortable! geez, how rude of your for telling us that it bugs you when people sexualize (insert thing here)."

No, it doesn't mean you want to go out and do those things to animals or people, but it does mean that, unlike most people, YOU personally think that sexualizing those things is arousing, and there's no reason why society should bend backwards to accept something that is actually pretty against societal values just because you don't like it when people find it gross or creepy.

For the record, I don't think any of the statements made on that secret were particularly related to the actual problem, either. It's like trying to disprove a statement by making unrelated statements that are true.

"Just because you're into furries doesn't mean you want to fuck a dog" doesn't MEAN anything. You're still into anthropomorphic representations of dogs with penises on them, screwing other dogs. And that is unusual and considered weird by society. Sorry, guys, but you're still going to be pestered about it if you go around parading it; same for any of these. Being a yaoi fangirl never means you want to be a gay man, it means that you (generally being a girl) think that two boys having sex together is really hot-- and it means that men will feel really uncomfortable talking to you because, if you talk about yaoi to them, they will feel like you don't treat men like other people, but like sexual objects.

Which is the whole reason why people get upset about sexism in the first place, isn't it? Or am I the only one who only is offended by sexist behavior because it leads to people treating me as if I, a fully-covered stranger, am nothing but a sexual object for a man to covet? I thought that was why behavior like this is considered to be creepy-- not because it means you want to have sex with it in real life, but because you act creepy, talking about the thing you sexualize as if it's no longer a person/creature with feelings, and merely a venue for the sexual behavior. : /

I have a perfectly open opinion about the actual subject matter. But that secret was not requesting people to be "open minded"; it was telling people "you're stupid, how dare you have an opinion about something that I like."

Internet logic is always circular. You can scream and cry at me, saying "You have no right to tell me what to think or like!", but that's true both ways. I don't have to like or respect someone regardless of their preferences. People judge each other. That will not change because we're only human. The best you can hope for is that you will present yourself in a way to others that allows them to accept you, and that others will do the same for you. Shouting out in all caps that there's nothing wrong with liking shota, or trying to rationalize any other fetish, is not the same as saying "Yeah, actually, I kind of like shota. I wouldn't do it in real life, but it somehow gets to me in a way that other fetishes don't."

In the future, I do think--if you're responding to a signed comment-- it's worth doing some research before jumping in to tell someone you don't know to have more "open opinions". You don't know a thing about me, or what I like or don't like. You don't even know what my opinions are, except that I think this secret is phrased poorly, and shows a whiny sense of entitlement. You have no reason to preach to me. I just refuse to agree with a chorus of "HELL YEAH, people should accept my crazy fetishes like they're totally normal!!" comments. That's not closed-minded; that's just me, being annoyed with a poorly phrased secrets and bandwagoners saying "YEAH!" to it.

You're right that you dont have to like anything that someone else does, nor do you have to accept them. you also do not have to keep your mouth shut, but i do have to say, just as you said that everyone is human and every human judges the next, its important to remember that you do not have to do that. You can just accept or even be civil that a person does not like what you like or that you do not like what they do. i never claimed to know you, nor did i strike out at you in that way. i didn't 'come at you', i wasn't rude and i didn't use any caps, bold, internet language or anything like that, so im not sure what you're referring to. i think that you read my other reply, as that seems to be what you're referring to, but if not, i'll gladly put it up. all i was saying is that there will always be someone, just as you said, who does not like what you like. Just because you can judge them doesn't mean you have to. The point is not to hope society accepts you but tho carry yourself in such a way that you can get along without causing an intentional rift, or going against the grain. When someone shouts out something controversial, it will be heard, so the choice is to shout it or to keep quiet, there are reasons for doing both, but personally, i see no need to shout to people who will not care or will not like it, or even to shout at all.
Again, this is only my opinion just as the rest is yours, but please do not call me out to say that i was saying or acting like i know you or your interests, because i did not do that.

Your comment, to me, and your comment is all i have to go by when speaking with you, did not sound very open minded. it did not sound like you were willing to deal with, or accept the idea that someone likes something that you do not like. However, as the secret said, whether worded badly or not, it is true that fantasy does not equal reality and saying 'yes it isn't real but its still ____' makes both a valid and invalid point in that it is still whatever is being displayed, but it also is not real, and that is the point of it.

Forgive me if you feel offended or pointed at or anything, but my only point with this was the tone of your comment, and the way you said what you said, not even what you said. it didn't sound like you were going towards the secret at all, but on the entire subject. Its stupid to say 'this is my interest you must also like it', which is what the secret seemed to say to you, but it is also unreasonable to come at people and expect no one to come back, just as it seems people are doing to you. it is circular logic but it certainly does not have to be. saying people judge as justification only continues that logic.

Please do not assume that i have not done any research or just 'jumped on the bandwagon' because i noticed a thread that i took interest in.
