I didn't love the manga nearly as much when I revisited it either. I was always more of an anime person, and going back to both sealed my opinion that the anime is a vast improvement and the manga past the point where the anime ended is a waste of time. But that's the opposite of every other fan's opinion, so it's hard for me to even enjoy the anime without feeling like I'm liking the series the wrong way.

Eh, that's my opinion on pretty much anything put out by Clamp, with xxxHolic being a debatable exception.

As for Furuba, I read the manga at twentysomething just to see what the hype was all about. It read like a very standard, pretty predictable shoujo fare, and it just failed to engage me at any level. Buuuuut I've heard good things about the anime before, so hell - your comment here just made me order it *g*

Oh man, I hope you like the anime! I also suggest you at least try the dub (if it's the USA region release you ordered). I personally think it's better than the Japanese.

I agree with you about CLAMP, too.

Time will show! I guess it's somewhat of a classic by now anyway, so it can't harm to take a look. It's the UK release, but dub-wise that usually amounts to the same thing.
