Chances are your English isn't as bad as they say, so don't let that bother you and keep practicing (because that's the only way to improve) by reading, listening, talking and writing.

Native speakers make mistakes all the time, so you have no reason to be afraid of making mistakes.

I do advice you to not mention being insecure about your English. People are more likely to look for something wrong or use the excuse to be assholes if you do so.
