I don't think you have to assume that the First Order, being a Nazi-analogue, would therefore have to line up precisely with real-life contemporary conservative politics. You can assume that, obviously, but if someone goes and wants to assume that the Fantasy Space Empire doesn't care about that particular bit of modern identity politics, I think that's a valid choice. There's no inherent reason they should care about it. They're an empire in space.
