I can see that. There are a bunch of characters where that happened to me, actually (especially in anime/manga, where the art can be very ambiguous). Ciel would be cool as a girl.

I know that feel.
There are tons of charcaters I thought at first were girls or purposely anadromous, only to find out that they're actually dudes the whole time. For some reason it always makes them less interesting and I get disappointed.

That's probably because there far more feminine, trappy guys in anime/manga than there are tomboyish, masculine girls. It's more interesting to read about girls who aren't pigeonholed into that high pitched femme squealing kawaii moe archetype, and less interesting reading about feminine "traps" because they're fucking overdone to death, while comparatively there are very few masculine girls, even fewer who qualify as a true "reverse trap" trope.

For some reason, I totally thought Ciel was a girl masquerading as a guy for inheritance purposes when I started reading the manga. That persisted until I talked to one of my friends after finishing the first volume and she said, "What the fuck are you talking about? Ciel's a guy."
