Even with the usual "We're siblings, this is so wrong!" thoughts, the pairing is sweet, romantic, and mostly happy.

Or siblings/relatives who did not know each other through childhood so would have absolutely no Westermark effect.

Yes but even without the Westermark effect, I've read that most incestuous relationships become very unbalanced and unhealthy. Something to do with the strength of the connection maybe?

I guess that's the point of fictional incest - it doesn't have to become unbalanced. The little unrealities make fiction better.

YMMV I guess. I don't get the appeal at all, but then hey, we're discussing incest fic so there ya go. Definitely a case of YMMV. :)
