Re: So I'm at my lowest point yet.
(Anonymous) 2016-07-06 03:20 am (UTC)(link)Sorry for the inquisition, you've probably already looked into all those options and some I haven't thought of. Sorry for your situation, too, that sucks. Maybe check out libraries in your area and some fast food places also have free wifi, although I know it's not as convenient as at home.
I hope your pain eases up or you manage to change/get meds to something that works better for you.
I went in to work on a day off to cover for my poor coworker whose immunocompromised husband is in the hospital with pneumonia, but I had to leave after a couple of hours to check on my mom, who called me and then passed out (drunk) mid phone call. So now there's no one to close and I missed out on six hours of earned leave time or eighty bucks.
She has a therapist's appointment tomorrow and needs to be sober enough to hold a conversation with him. This after yesterday, when she'd been sober all day until the evening, when I got the hot coals from the grill dumped out over my bare feet, got kicked into the wall, punched, and called heartless and a whiny baby and told I smell bad.
So far today she's bought two liter bottles of vodka and eight airplane bottles; I've taken away the airplane bottles and the combined equivalent of one vodka bottle. I use the airplane bottles as lighter fluid for the grill in summer and steep fruit and vanilla beans in the vodka to use to flavor cakes and other pastries, but I'd rather she were sober; it's like living with a possessed sadistic zombie version of my mother who also manages to injure herself constantly. I'd take away her money and credit cards but even when she's drunk that apparently qualifies as elder abuse; at least I have her car keys.
Re: So I'm at my lowest point yet.
Your situation sounds unbelievably stressful. I hope your mother sobers up and straightens out her act and that you get a well-deserved reprieve! No one deserves to be treated like that, especially not by their own mother.
