I still buy CDs too, because I prefer having the physical media whenever possible as opposed to purely digital files that could easily be lost if a hard drive fails (and this has happened to me once). I grew up in the era before digital media, and my late dad collected a ton of music in different formats (a lot of which I chose to hang on to too), so it's kind of a habit of mine. I'm like this with DVDs/Blu-rays too, even with things that are easily available on Netflix and the like.

But while the majority of what I've bought in the past few years or so have been in proper jewel cases, I'm not all that fond of the cardboard sleeves either. Sure, they take up a little less space on my shelves, but they're far more likely to get damaged than the ones in the jewel cases. Why mess with a good thing?
