...when people post here or on tumblr that they love a show or movie and want more people to watch it, and yet they never mention the title of the show or who is in it.

Same. There's a movie i'm constantly trying to get people to watch on tumblr and if I said what it was here people would definitely know who I was over there.

So I guess i'm part of the problem a bit lol.

I don't understand how people can think that if something isn't intentional, it isn't racist (or whatever other form of prejudice). How can they not understand that the system is racist and that racism can exist even without people deliberately intending to be racist.

Because most people aren't inherently racist. Social patterns are not individual thoughts and inclinations. The very unconscious nature of it makes it a bitch to tackle.

No but if they don't actually apologize and try to do better after someone calls them out (nicely ), they get suspect.

I'm talking about people who don't even acknowledged it exists. I'm talking about people who, whenever racism is being discussed, say things like "he didn't mean to be racist so there was no racism here" or "that person wasn't shot because the cop hates blacks" or things like that.

How? I'm saying there are people out there who say that if the cop didn't choose to shoot a man just because he's black and they hate black people, then it wasn't racism. And I don't understand that mentality because there is racism in police shootings of black men even if each cop doesn't go "oh this man is black so I'm going to shoot him."

I think there's a confusion going on here between racism in the sense of individual prejudice or "things people think" and racism in the sense of a social pattern which does influence people's actions, attitudes, and thoughts.

Well, the Spice Girl stuff makes me not understand why girl bands stopped being a thing.

Because they're bragging about their taste, but wish to retain a jovial air of false modesty.

"Filthy (name of fandom)" I can understand (and use myself, sometimes), because some of the connotations are along the lines of "having fun in a way seen as less than spotless" (case in point: mud fights), but "trash" has almost exclusively negative connotations to me.

When I use it, it's because I'm referring to a guilty pleasure of mine.

Like I will say "I'm a 'Phantom of the Opera' phan", but "I'm such 'Housewives of Insert City Here' trash".

I'm not proud that I like it, but personal interest does what it wants.

People who brake hard before using their blinker/turn signal.

People who don't use blinkers at all. No, I'm not a goddamn mindreader. TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK YOU'RE DOING.

People who are at a stoplight and let in people who do not have the right of way, especially when there is a line of traffic behind the person making said decision. Thanks, fucker. You just screwed over everyone behind you just so that you could feel good about your big hero decision of the day.

People at a stoplight who leave three to four cars' worth of space between them and the car in front.

People who do 50 mph in a residential neighborhood and parking lot, so that they can do 10 below the speed limit on the main road.

People who tailgate others in the slow lane, and don't move over in the fast lane when someone wants to pass.

People who honk THE SECOND the light turns green.

I bet those are the same people who were looking at their smartphone right up until that moment, and are so proud of themselves for their ability to multitask and notice a green light (nevermind their inability to measure the current flow of time) and gosh, they couldn't possibly be a menace on the road, it's obviously that person up front! That jerk who's keeping them from reaching the next red light so they can resume their smartphone use! And you should be grateful! At least they're not like those psychos who phone while in motion! So take their honk and show some appreciation!
