Who's all playing and how far along are you?

I'm bummed I live in a hugely residential area and there's not even so much as a PokeStop within reasonable walking distance. But by work, there are loads of PokeStops, gyms, and Pokemon everywhere... too bad I can only play on my lunch break, when the servers are notoriously down. :P

I caught five pokemon at our mall today, but otherwise it's very barren around my home...

I can't afford a phone atm so I'm forced to play strictly at home on my tablet. So... like 75% of the game is impossible for me to do right now. Atm I'm level 4 with 90 exp to go until level 5.

Where I live, it's infested with Paras. I have seen absolutely no Caterpie, Weedle, or their evolutions. Last night I saw a Chansey three footprints away, but as I'm limited to what shows up at my house I couldn't grab it.

I'm not going to join a team. All I want to do is catch Pokemon. If I wanted to play Ingress I'd just play Ingress. I can buy coins if I really need them.

My house is infested with Weedils... Only glimpsed one Paras on the train to work this morning! So it works fine on your tablet? I thought I heard that the game wouldn't work if you couldn't use cell. But this would be useful for my niece/nephews if they can play just on wifi...

Yeah, it works just fine, it's just that I can /only/ play on my wifi (and free wifi spots like cafes and restaurants). The problem is, all the Pokespots are out of range of these places + I don't think the tablet will count steps correctly, so no eggs for me.

Basically all I can do is catch Pokemon that show up in the wifi's range, unless I use incense. So young children would get enjoyment out of it, but would be very limited. My gameplay reminds me of how the average person plays Neko Atsume (check in now and again and hope you catch something).

Yesterday after work a group of my friends all went out and walked around our city playing it and it was so fun! We ran into a bunch of other people playing it too, and it was fun and surprisingly social. I can't go out tonight cause I am too busy with other things though.

I met someone at walmart who was buying a bunch of snacks for him and his friends to go looking tonight lmao

I saw this on tumblr and was both like, “Wow... Wtf” and “Of course.”

There's allt hese jokes happening on facebook so I unliked my local pokemon go page. Makes me incredibly uncomfortable :(

(but then, the page was just mostly dick jokes and fuck jokes with the pokemon camera thing so not a huge loss as opposed to useful stuff like what pokemon is where...)

Pokemon Go leads us to discover new things, I guess, better or worse. I myself discovered a tiny park in my own hometown which I had never been before, looking for Pokestops. But I guess dead bodies, too.

I am just waiting for the car accidents from people playing Pokemon Go while driving.

How do I get this game? I didn't see it in the play store.

It's supposed to be on both iTunes and Android. (I have Android, and it was the first thing that showed up in search.)

Not sure why it isn't showing up. (Uh, though I've read if you don't live in the US you have to use a workaround? Google it maybe?)

I'm in the same boat as you, I live in a teeny suburb and I've yet to find a Pokestop within walking distance. I did at least find the locations of one Pokestop and a gym but they were too far for me to walk to, I'll have to go driving one day for them (I almost walked to the gym but it would have required me to pass through some thick woods behind a private golf course and the distance was a bit much for me anyway with the heat being what it is). On the bright side I'm usually a 'hide inside' person and I've gone out on afternoon walks for the past two days...on the bad side the servers went down both times on the walk home. I got a Clefairy and a Pidgeotto today and didn't get caught for trespassing on the above-mentioned golf course though, so not a complete loss.

I just downloaded this about an hour ago, and it took a while to log on and find a name, but I found three Pokémon following my usual walking route. There's a gym right down the road, but I'm not even level 5 yet. All the stops are far enough away that I'm not bothering with them right now because the heat is ridiculous and I'm still too full from dinner to feel like it.

The funny thing being I've never watched or played Pokémon before, so I have no real reason for playing this besides, “Collecting fictional creatures sounds fun.”

I want a Pikachu!

I can't get the game to detect my location. :(

Tbh I was surprised it worked for me since I live in the smallest of towns. It seems like there probably isn't a great variety of Pokémon, but at least it works!

Maybe it'll start later? (I know a lot of people are having similar problems. The app probably needs to be tweaked a good bit.) Do you usually have trouble with your GPS?

Nope. I'll try it again in a couple days to see if it improves.

Level 8! But like you, I can only do stuff when at work so nothing is really going to happen on the weekend and I'll fall behind again.

I'll never be gym leader of my suburb (dude's pokemon is OVER 1k CP ALREADY?!) but I'm hoping I can find a gym in the middle of nowhere and take it over...

Apparently there's an Ingriss map you can view on PC, but for some reason I can't get ingriss to download onto my phone so I can sign up so I can gain access to the map and find easy!gyms

Also a friend of a friend of a friend became the gym leader of parliament.

The local gyms are just blasting up higher and higher in terms of CP! Seriously, I thought I've been playing pretty hard but how do people get up that quickly?! I'm level 7 and my Raticate is in the 300s still, most of the gyms around me are in the 400s. I did manage to beat one gym with Raticate, only to realize that since it was my own color it doesn't count... or something. I wanted to be the gym leader!

I'm holding out the the pokemon go plus watch thing. Then I'm going to tie it to the dog and let her loose in the middle of nowhere, it will catch pokemon automatically for me? XD

and crash less I hope. Also generally when I am in movement I am NOT looking at my phone, so I'm struggling with that.
