I hope this doesn't come of as flippant (maybe you have already tried this?) but in my experence if you go into an auto parts store and buy a new wiper blade(s) you can ask the store associates to help you install it. Not sure if you already have your new blade though.

Tried that. It is a weird design that only Fiat dealers stock, so the regular Halfords doesn't deal with it. I've tried getting hold of the Fiat dealer, but all I got was a never ending game of telephone tag and finding that the parts guy is out of the office that day. Every damn day I've been. I'm starting to think even Fiat don't know how to change the blade on their own cars. The worse thing is, that the rear wipers come on when the front wiper does on anything other than the one-shot wipe. Set the front wipers to even intermittent and the rear wiper does it too. I've been using the one-shot wipe function for over a week now as I've been running errands instead of setting it to wipe automatically just to avoid the housing scratching the glass. It is annoying and more than a little dangerous. I'm starting to consider replacing the whole arm just to get the rubber changed.

That...sounds really stupid. Why? (referring to the rear automatic wipers)

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, anon. :(

Well as long as the rear blade isn't worn away it is kinda helpful. The shape of the car means a lot of muck is kicked up on it, so if it is raining enough for the front wipers you actually do need the rear one. Just f---ing annoying when it has worn away and I'm trying to not use it until it can get fixed. Looking at the various forums, it seems like I might genuinely have to replace the entire arm, or start trying to cannibalise another wiper and cut it to fit while trying to detach the wiper from the bit of metal and plastic on the blade that holds the rubber in place. I'd rather just have FIAT do it and save myself the hassle.

I guess it must be the shape of the car. I only turn on my rear wipers maybe 25% of the time I use the front wipers.
