Nooooooope. Never ever.

It is the truth, however. Kid's 4 and he doesn't know his alphabet yet, mainly because mom and dad don't read to him and prioritize TV over other activities.

I still believe "they're not going to be smart" isn't exactly true. Kids can recover from a lot of things.

Granted they do sound like horrible parents and the kid will have difficulty, but he'll get there.

This is true, but frankly I sort of hope they're not if they're in an under-stimulating household, because that would be horrible for a kid who's secretly smart.
