Kinda same. I tend to be a detail nitpicker, so if something, be it a plot theory, headcanon or a ship, seems to contradict canon, I often have a knee-jerk "NOPE THAT'S INCONSISTENT" reaction. There are exceptions, like if a canon ship is a badly-written enough mess, I might ship something else (or nothing at all) instead. But even then, I sometimes have a "I don't want the ship to not happen, I want it to stop being badly-written" reaction instead.

Now that there are starting to be more canon LGBT characters, I have the same "INCONSISTENT!" reactions to people shipping, for example, gay characters in het ships, as well.
