I can get behind thinking about him as straight only, but that kiss was just awkward imho.
Maybe it's because Steve/Peggy is my OTP and in that ship Steve SHINES on screen and I'm totally biased and ugh I can't really get over Sharon being Peggy's niece.
AND THE PACING. Come on, the romance with Peggy was sweet because she fell in love with him pre-serum and fought with him for years before giving him the first kiss, meanwhile Sharon's romance is just... off. Yes, they've known each others for years in the end but I really can't buy it. It just come off as awkward to me.

They invested too much into the Steve/Peggy ship (via multiple installments, across several different properties!) for me to buy Steve/Sharon with so little buildup, that's all there was to it.

Same here. I can never accept MCU!Staron after they spent so much time and effort on Steggy. It was out of nowhere and felt like a slap in the face to his previously consistent characterization in regards to his feelings for Peggy.
