Artistic talent really has nothing to do with personal virtue, though. It's not awarded to good people for being good, it's just an aptitude some people have. Some can write or draw, some can cook gourmet meals, some are great at science or engineering, it's completely random. Plus, a lot of creative people feel like a vessel that this stuff just passes through anyway, so this person could have been just as baffled by their success in creating this thing as you are. Half the stuff I write, I have no idea where any of it came from. Especially the purely commercial fluff, that's pretty much an out-of-body experience. It really is easier to manage this sort of thing if you can learn to separate the work from the creator.
