How do you do that negative font effect?

I haven't seen any of this, only complaints about it, but I really hope it doesn't catch on that hard.

maybe a layer mask and the forest image flipped vertically? idk

Like someone below said - I copied the background picture to a new layer above the text layer, flipped it vertically and made it into a clipping mask in Photoshop. Then, I just fiddled around a bit with the dimensions to make sure the text is readable. :)
