So my SO doesn't go on this forum but I feel the need to bring up Lavender Brown for their sake. (They are head of the Lavender Brown Defense Squad, because yeah Lavender had flaws but she was also 16 and got a really disproportionate amount of hate. I'm not really in the HP fandom though so that is just me remembering what my SO has said :p)

For me: Cosette doesn't get bashed as much anymore in the Les Mis fandom but I will still defend her to the end. Also its not quite bashing but I will personally fight anyone who calls ST:TOS Uhura "useless"

the one where the showmakers/Bill Shatner wanted to limit the on screen activity of non-white people/non-Bill Shatner people, so I do understand where the sentiment is coming from, but to bash the character rather than pointing out the reasons behind her apparent "uselessness" is just dumb and obnoxious
