I've never spoken to someone who didn't believe in evolution who actually understood what evolution is, up to and including, "I've never seen a dog give birth to a duck," or "if we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys?"

Only coherent response I can think of is, "If I came from my grandparents, why do I have cousins?", because that is precisely how stupid that question is.

I'm not surprised. If they actually understood the process and what it was, I doubt they'd be so opposed to it. Most anti-evolutionists just parrot stuff like the "if we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys?" nonsense because it sounds "good" to them... because they're not really giving it any deep thought.
