I can't fucking believe it. Two of the people I live with just had a really loud discussion infront of my room and then they were going to put on the washing mashine which is right next to my room. IT'S FUCKING 4 AM. And no, this isn't some kind of emergency, it's just that they felt like it and have no fucking regard for other people at all.

(The worst part is that one of these people yelled at me like 3 weeks ago for not letting people sleep. When I asked someone unrelated who was not sleeping a question at 11 pm about something they knew needed to be answered before morning. WTF.)

They sound super selfish and I'm sorry.

An artist who was a huge influence on me back in 2009 and 2010 have finally finished purging all their old work. Of the roughly 150 stories and pictures, less than twenty remain. (And it's only art, with no context; the stories and prose and meta are all gone.)

Thank god I binge archived on their stuff and saved it because I saw it coming, but still, I'm kinda sad. This stuff was so huge to me back then, and now... well, it's kinda gone now. I understand why they did it, and that it's their art to do with as they choose, but this stuff was so helpful to me back then, I'm still kinda sad that it's gone.

Especially since it was original trans fic and art, and now that artist has moved to exclusively fanart. I knew their stories would never get finished, but to see them purged entirely is still kinda sad, you know?

I don't even know how to explain this without saying shit I'm not allowed to say, but...my fucking work. The fucking bureaucracy.

All right, so there's Policy A, and following Policy A means filling about Form B. Form B is a nightmare, but we all did the best we could with it. Well, a few months ago, we come to find out that literally no one in the entire company is filling out Form B correctly, so they tell us that they're going to give us formal training on filling out Form B. This in itself is obnoxious, because hey, if everyone is getting it wrong, doesn't that point to a problem with the form rather than with the people?

But oh, it gets worse.

A month ago, we have a meeting where we're told that we should not be invoking Policy A under most circumstances, and that we therefore should not be using Form B under most circumstances. Prior, we had all been told that Policy A was the rule, and that we could be fired if we didn't follow it, but now, suddenly, a VP was telling us that it's actually the exception, and that the auditors should only be looking at one to two Form Bs a month. We are told that any employee can choose to not follow Policy A, without approval from a manager.

Last week, I choose to not follow Policy A. I get an email asking which manager signed off on me not following Policy A. I reply asking for clarification on whether or not a manager needs to sign off, since a VP said that we all have the power. I am told that yup, sure, managers need to sign off.

My manager is like "...um what."

OH ALSO. I have supervisor authority and I have been told by my manager that I am able to sign off on exceptions, but her assistant will not let me do certain things and higher ups get on my ass if I do certain things.

Basically, right now, I don't know what is expected of me at my job and it's driving me fucking nuts.

Sounds like Policy A and/or Form B is one of those things that sounds like a good idea conceptually, but doesn't work well in practice, so now people are backpedalling and trying to blame everyone else's handling of it rather than the feasibility of the idea to begin with. It's now entered an experimental period where everyone is fumbling around trying to see how to make it work, hence the flip-flops in direction, but no one is ready to let it go.

I just got a call from Mom that she was in a fender-bender on her way home from work. She's fine, thank goodness, but the car is not. It was the other driver's fault, but that's not much comfort right now. Jeez.

I feel you. I was going to masturbate two nights in a row but was so exhausted that I just fell asleep both times.

I have a friend who is always late and she always apologises but she never STOPS and I just want to ask if she does this shit at work too or is it just my time that she doesn't respect?

I went to get a hair cut yesterday. My standard operating procedure is to go really short and then over the course to a year/year-and-a-half just leave it alone until the sides are chin length, the back is shoulder length and I just absolutely can't stand it anymore.

So, I went to one place armed with the two pictures I've used as templates for the past two years, but this time the person doing the cut was playing with my hair, moving it all around ("trying to figure out how to do it) and asking questions that aren't normally asked. And when she finally started talking about how she "could cut like that, but then you'd have to wear it this way all the time or it would look weird," I just noped the fuck out of there. I wasn't comfortable with anything she was doing or saying, so I got up out of the chair and walked out.

So I went to a different place where the initial experience was much better (though I wish I'd declined the wash, because I'd just washed my hair that day). Except post-cut, stylists never style my hair as I would wear it, so when she was all "do you like this, or do you want to go shorter?" I said as much and proceeded to muss it up, and I feel like I was just about to where I wanted it to be when she was all "Oh, yeah, shorter. Needs to be shorter."

And because my experience to that point had been so good (or at least so much better) and I'm really dumb about hair, rather than say "wait, wait, wait," and continuing on my own until seeing if I was satisfied, I said "okay!"

And now it's too goddamned short. I like having it so it can be styled up off my forehead and maybe brushed forward a little in back (I know it probably sounds like I'm describing Trump hair, but that's not what I mean), but this just stands straight up and makes my fat head look pointy.

I'm just taking deep breaths and reminding myself that Grandma always said the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is about two weeks.
