The things you just said... are completely false.

I bought my bike for $100. It's a nice city bike with a basket and good breaks, and I have zero need for anything fancier than that (you don't use a mountain bike for city biking). And you don't sweat when biking unless you really go fast and push it (same as walking fast or jogging to work), or have to go up hills. And considering how much faster it is than walking, if you leave in good time you have plenty of time to freshen up before work.

You are seriously sheltered if you think one can get a cheap car for that much, and live in a city - where you have to pay for things like parking anywhere you go.
