Who's "acting like it's normal to mock boyband crushes"? It's totally normal and mainstream for people to have crushes on boy bands. Mocking that usually has more than a whiff of misogyny, and gets criticized accordingly.

If other people have different sexual standards from you, and those standards make them happy and fulfilled and aren't hurting anyone, then why would you disapprove? You don't have to take them up yourself, just be a chill and nonjudgmental human being who appreciates that it takes all kinds.

As a borderline asexual who had been in the OP's shoes I don't think being unaware of their sexuality give them a pass for judging people, being a dick with a reason doesn't make you not a dick. Even if they only did it in secret it's good to realize your own flawed thinkings and better yourself. Also the asexual community (at least online) has a lot of judegemental assholes so OP would do well to stay away from that reputation.
