I had a lot of family in New Orleans, and I still have a soft spot for it, but though I'm admittedly years out of date, Katrina really did wreck it. Even when we last visited (2012), you could still see the effects. I actually considered moving there, a while back, but chose not to. (My homecity is extremely expensive, but moving over state lines while disabled is a clusterfuck, and all my friends, colleagues, and healthcare team are here.)

I would NEVER move to Chicago though. Every time I've been there, the weather has been dreadful, and it just gets too goddamn cold for me. I'm in New England, so I can handle temperatures down to the single digits, but man, something about Chicago's wind, it just cuts right through you.
